Bear Guard Training

Bear Guards enhance human safety in work areas where risk of bear encounters is high.  Guards take competent action to detect and monitor bears in the area and provide timely warnings to others. They also have the knowledge and skills to safely and effectively deter bears away from areas where people active and when necessary to quickly and humanely kill a bear that poses immediate risk to people.

BEARWISE Bear Guard Training is for all employees, designated individuals and contractors who wish to serve as bear guards.  A bear guard may be a designated member of the field team or a full time position.  Approach considers the potential hazards in the work vicinity.
